US State Sec. Hails German Aid To Ukraine
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken lauded Germanyآ's strong contributions to Ukraine, including financial, security, and humanitarian assistance.
Blinken made the remark during his meeting with visiting German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck late Tuesday, Spokesperson of the US Depatment of Ned Price said in a statement.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the U.S.-German economic partnership, including how to move forward on trade, energy, and climate, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, Blinken also separately met with Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg and discussed opportunities for continued bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including assistance for Ukraine and the need to hold Russia accountable for its brutal war, said the statement.
Secretary Blinken praised Austriaآ's positive role in the Western Balkans and discussed the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europeآ's importance as a forum for dialogue, it added. (end)
