Ksrelief Launches Relief Project To Flood-Affected Families In Pakistan


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Islamabad, February 4, 2023, SPA- King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched a project yesterday to provide shelter materials and winter bags for the most vulnerable families affected by the floods in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the year 2023.
The launching ceremony at the Saudi Embassy in Pakistan was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Islamabad Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Chairman of Pakistan's National Disaster Management Commission (NDMC), Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, and a number of officials.
Under the project, 15,000 bags of basic shelter materials weighing 190 tons will be distributed to 15,000 families, benefiting 175,000 individuals in eight flood-hit regions in Pakistan.
Ambassador Al-Malki pointed out that the project comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince and in continuation of the Kingdom's support to the brotherly Pakistani people following the flood disaster of last year.
The ambassador also said that the assistance reflects the keenness of the Kingdom's Leadership on supporting and aiding the brotherly Pakistanis at times of crises and hardships.
For his part, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik voiced Pakistan's thanks and gratitude to the Saudi Leadership's continued support to his country, underlying the relief project's contributions to alleviating the suffering of the families affected by the floods.
He also said that the KSrelief teams are working on the ground side by side with the Pakistani government teams in handling the situation and administrating relief assistance to affected segments.
