(MENAFN- Dubai PR Network) The Central Laboratory of 'Ports, customs and Free Zone' Conducts more than 3,500 Tests to ensure Environmental Safety in affiliated Regions
The Central Laboratory of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation conducted more than 3,500 tests during 2022 to examine the quality and safety of environmental systems in the areas that fall under the supervision of the Corporation, with an increase of 17% compared to last year.
In this regard, Eng. Abdulla Belhoul, Executive Director of the Planning and Development Department - Trakhees at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, stressed the Department's keenness to implement all government directives related to providing a sustainable environment for life in the Emirate of Dubai by verifying the quality and safety of environmental systems in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, aiming to prevent the environmental damage resulting from construction works and manufacturing operations that negatively affect the public environment and human health.
Belhoul stated that the Central Laboratory of the Environment, Health and Safety Department at the Trakhees Department of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation conducted more than 3,500 tests during 2022 to examine the efficiency and safety of environmental systems in the areas that fall under the supervision of the Corporation, an increase of 17% compared to last year, as it the official statistics issued by the Environment, Health and Safety Department of the Trakhees Department revelaed an increase of the number of transactions submitted to conduct various environmental analyses. The list was topped by Harobpr Water Analayses, which reached a growth rate of 302%, followed by Marine Analyses transactions, which increased by about 24%, then Water Quality Tests came in third place, with an increase of 10% compared to last year.
Belhoul explained that the reports of analysis transactions were divided between commercial and regulatory, as the number of regulatory samples reached about 2,000 analyzes, with a growth rate of nearly 40% compared to last year, and the samples that were examined for commercial purposes reached about 1,500 samples.
The CEO of the Trakhees Department confirmed that the Environment, Health and Safety Department through its Central Laboratory, is working on setting up operations, approving regulations, and implementing innovative solutions through specialized technical competencies that are qualified to conduct various types of analyses that amount to about 50 types, which are included, for example, measuring the quality of drinking water, swimming pool water, groundwater, air quality analysis, gaseous emissions, noise level measurement, and other services through the use of the latest innovative devices and leading technologies in the field of physical, chemical and microbiological examinations.
He also emphasized the Corporation's keenness on the innovative use of technology to provide smart and distinguished services to its customers, as the Corporation is constantly working on developing dealing mechanisms to comply with best practices and ensure the customers happinees in line with government directives, which contributes to embodying the Corporation's vision of strengthening Dubai's position as a leading sustainable center to support the economic sector at the global level.
