The UAE Proclaims 2023 To Be The 'Year Of Sustainability.'

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, president of the United Arab Emirates, has proclaimed 2023 to be the“Year of Sustainability” with the theme“Today for Tomorrow.”

Numerous programs, initiatives, and events that are part of the“Year of Sustainability” will be inspired by the UAE's deeply ingrained sustainability ideals.

Additionally, it will emphasize on environmental sustainability, inspiring group action for sustainable development, and assisting with national strategies.

The year will also highlight the UAE's dedication to promoting international cooperation in the search for creative answers to urgent sustainability-related problems including energy and climate change.

The efforts of the“Year of Sustainability” would be overseen by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed.

“Today for Tomorrow symbolizes the UAE's attitude to sustainability, commitment to it, and duty to safeguard the future. As our ancestors did for us, we are ensuring that we leave behind a legacy of stewardship for future generations by working, making efforts, and taking action today.

In light of the UAE's upcoming hosting of the Conference of Parties, the 28th United Nations climate change summit, President Sheikh Mohamed stressed the Year of Sustainability's special significance (COP28).

He declared that the UAE is committed to having COP28 establish a standard for all future efforts to combat climate change on a global scale.

To participate in projects and activities linked to them, he invited institutions and members of the community. Following the successful end of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2023, the statement was made.

This solidifies the UAE's position as a global leader in raising awareness of sustainability and reaffirms its commitment to meeting the difficulties connected to it.

The UAE has long been a pioneer in advancing sustainable energy and forming successful alliances for the good of the world community.

The UAE-US Agreement for Accelerating Clean Energy (PACE), which will stimulate $100 billion in clean energy project implementation in the UAE, the US, and the rest of the world, is one significant partnership.–WAM
