(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf strongly condemned the Swedish authorities for allowing an far-right politician to burn a copy of the Holy Quran during a protest in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on Saturday afternoon.
This is a despicable and unjustifiable act of provocation which offends the Muslims around the globe, Dr. Al-Hajraf said in a press release.
He renewed the firm stance of the GCC member countries in support of the values of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence, and against hatred and extremism, according to the statement. (end)
