Turkey welcomes nearly 1M people for hair transplants in 2022, collects around USD2B

(MENAFN) Nearly 1 million people took trips to Turkey and spent around USD2 billion on hair transplants in 2022, as stated by the chief of the Turkish Health Tourism Association.

“Half of the USD4 billion turnover in 2022 was obtained from hair transplantation services,” Dr. Servet Terziler informed Anadolu.

“If we assume that the foreign currency left by an average patient for hair transplantation is USD2,000 dollars, we can say that 1 million people came to Türkiye for hair transplantation in 2022,” Terziler also mentioned.

In line with Terziler, Turkey also surpassed the USD500 million income in dental services in addition to around USD400 million in aesthetic surgery.

Assuring that foreign tourists also indicated huge interest in spa tourism, he mentioned that a number surpassing USD10 billion had been obtained with the income received from spa tourism.

Highlighting that Turkey had a very good crisis management knowledge in the sector of health throughout the coronavirus pandemic, he asserted that “Türkiye’s health infrastructure is very strong. We have increased quality to the highest level with our doctors and assistant health personnel.”
