Doha: As the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji Zain 25) draws near, all indications confirm that Iraq is well prepared for a successful hosting of the tournament with its high-level infrastructure, facilities and stadiums.
The championship, due to be held January 6-19, will be played in two stadiums in the southern city of Basra -- Basra International Stadium and Al Mina Stadium.
The 65,000-capacity Basra International Stadium will host the opening ceremony and the tournament opener between Iraq and Oman on January 6.
The participating eight Gulf teams were divided into two groups, with Group A comprising Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Yemen, and Group B comprising Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, and Bahrain.
