Enemy Attempting To Advance In Bakhmut, Lyman Directions


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Russian troops continue to focus their efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Lyman directions, and hold the defense in the Novopavlivka and Kherson directions.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its evening update as of 18:00, December 26, Ukrinform reports.

In particular, during the current day, the Russian troops carried out 19 MLRS attacks. The threat of enemy air strikes and missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine remains.

'The occupiers are still focusing their efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Lyman directions, and are attempting to improve their tactical position in the Kupiansk, Avdiivka, and Zaporizhzhia directions. In the Novopavlivka and Kherson directions, the enemy is holding the defense,” the General Staff said.

It is noted that on December 24, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck an area of concentration of enemy manpower near Plovynkyne of the Starobilsk district in Luhansk region, killing and wounding up to 150 Russian invaders

On December 25, in the temporarily captured territory of Kherson region, Ukrainian defenders eliminated up to 50 Russian soldiers and wounded about 100 more. About five units of enemy military equipment of various types were destroyed.

During the current day, the Ukrainian Air Force struck an area of concentration of Russian military personnel. Units of the Ukrainian missile and artillery forces hit four enemy command posts and six areas of manpower concentration.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 102,600 Russian troops from February 24 to December 26.
