Turkish Erdogan cautions Greece

(MENAFN) Turkish Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan has cautioned Greece against incitements in the Aegean Sea, stating: “Don’t mess with us. We have no quarrel with you in the Aegean.”

“They did some crazy things in the Aegean again. Of course, we also did what was necessary,” Erdogan announced at an event in the southeastern Mardin province on Saturday.

His comments came when Greek airplanes tried to meddle in a NATO training mission achieved in international airspace over the Aegean Sea.

Greek jets tried to stop the mission, the National Defense Ministry stated on Saturday, noting that the Turkish Air Force gave them the “necessary response … and the NATO mission was successfully completed.”

The president added he has informed officials to “do what is necessary … if Greece continues to act out,” repeating his warning: “We may come suddenly one night.”

Erdogan went on to state Türkiye’s recent air-to-air missile test “scares” Athens.
