(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met Sunday visiting Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand and her accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation fields between the two countries in the context of preserving security and stability in the region, and logistic collaboration and training.
They further dealt with combating terrorism, common coordination in this regard, the most important developments on the regional and international arenas and joint coordination.
Meanwhile, Anand expressed her country's thanks and appreciation to Kuwait for hosting the Canadian armed forces on its territory and providing them all facilities available
She also voiced her country's gratitude for Kuwait's efforts and support to facilitate the evacuation of Canadian nationals and other nationals from Afghanistan, and to secure their safe arrival to their countries.
Anand said she looks forward to continuing strong cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields, commending Kuwait's wisdom, balanced foreign policy and efforts to maintain security and peace in the region.
Moreover, Sheikh Salem extolled the prosperity and progress of cooperation between Kuwait and Canada on all levels, and the close partnership between them.
This represents a message of solidarity and support for preserving Kuwait's security and stability in the region, he said, expressing his full support to promote and strengthen joint action to establish security in the region. (end)
