Held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City, the training was attended by 80 specialists and conducted by Dr. Jassim Al Marzouqi. The training aimed to explain how to psychologically deal with children while being interviewed or investigated, identify the psychological and behavioral traits of children of different ages, define cognitive abilities, and determine the extent to which this age group of youngsters understands their surroundings.
The training discussed the psychological defense strategies that such professionals employ in court and throughout investigations, and touched on certain prevalent psychological and behavioral issues that affect children, as well as their legal implications, and the most effective techniques to interact with children throughout interrogation and court proceedings.
HE Shaikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director-General of the DFWAC, said that protecting children is one of the greatest lines of work, since children are the future leaders of these communities.
Al Mansouri reaffirmed that DFWAC will continue to be guided by the wise leadership's directives to enforce laws and use all feasible methods to nurture society's capacity to safeguard children and deal with them using modern tools that ensure positive results.
"We sought though organizing the training to better familiarize participants with the best educational and psychological techniques to conduct interviews and interrogations with children to reach the required results," Shaikha Saeed Al Mansouri added.
She expressed her hope that the training would result in providing a comprehensive protection mechanism for children, voicing her appreciation to Dr. Jassim Al Marzouqi's involvement in the training as well as for the participation of judges, prosecutors, police, and other child protection professionals.
