(MENAFN) Expansion in real global GDP is going to fall from 5.7 percent last year to 3.3 percent this year, an additional UN report stated on Monday, indicating that exchange in commodities and facilities are going to decelerate, with expansion in merchandise shipments estimated to decrease by 50 percent.
For services shipments, which involves transport and travel, the deceleration is going to be lower pronounced – from 17.2 percent to 14.6 percent, as stated by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
The costs of main commodities including food and energy climbed by 55 percent last year, as shown by the UNCTAD Handbook of Statistics 2022. The handbook is a worldwide reference for exchange and development trends which is issued once a year.
"These statistics will help countries take evidence-based policy measures to cushion the blow of the global crisis on the most vulnerable," as stated by UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan.
