UN: More Than 6,700 Civilians Killed In Ukraine Since Russian Invasion Started

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has recorded 17,181 civilian casualties in Ukraine, including 6,702 killed and 10,479 injured.

This is said in the organization's latest update on civilian casualties in Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.

It is noted that most of the civilian casualties recorded were caused by the use of explosive weapons with wide area effects, including shelling from heavy artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, missiles and air strikes.

OHCHR stresses that the actual figures are considerably higher, as the receipt of information from some locations where intense hostilities have been going on has been delayed.

As earlier reported, according to Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, more than 15,000 people have gone missing during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
