(MENAFN) Türkiye on Saturday announced it strongly convicts the “summary executions” and recent increase of violence and civilian deaths in the conquered West Bank, as well as East Jerusalem.
“We call on the Israeli authorities to take the necessary measures to prevent further escalation of tension and loss of lives in the region,” according to a Turkish Foreign Ministry declaration.
“We wish Allah’s mercy upon our Palestinian brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the incidents and extend our condolences to the State of Palestine and its people,” it also read.
The declaration comes amid uproar over a viral social media video that showed an Israeli fighter assassinating a Palestinian man at point-blank range during a fight.
The EU has also urged for a probe into the assassination of Palestinian citizens by Israeli forces in the conquered West Bank.
In a declaration on Twitter, the EU stated Israeli forces murdered 10 Palestinians in the earlier three days “in what appears to be an excessive use of lethal force.”
