Afghan Businessman, Ahmad Yar Gharany, Opens Gas Company In UAE

Ahmad Yar Gharany, an Afghan businessman and investor, launched a 70 million Dirham liquefied gas production and distribution company in the United Arab Emirates.

Ahmad Yar Gharany revealed to Khaama Press in an exclusive interview that he will soon establish a lapis lazuli processing plant in Afghanistan.

Gharany received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Kabul University and completed his graduate studies at the master's level in Australia. He is originally from the Surkh Rod district of Nangarhar province in the eastern region of Afghanistan.

Concerning the capacity of the liquified gas production company, Gharany added that it had just been operating for about two weeks in the Al-Jurf industrial region of Ajman. According to him, the gas company has a total production capacity of close to 146–150 tons and is the first facility of its kind in the UAE.

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of Ajman and the head of the Ajman Executive Council, Yousef Al-Nuaimi, the director general of the hospitality and protocol department, Ahmed Ibrahim Al Ghamlasi, the chief of staff of the office of the Ajman Crown Prince, and a number of department directors and senior officials from local government offices all attended the inauguration ceremony, Gharany said.

The Afghan investor said that the company's building was constructed in an area of roughly 50,000 square meters for a cost of 70 million dirhams over the course of 1.5 years. The newly established business produces and distributes liquefied natural gas in accordance with the highest industry standards.

Gharany, the company's CEO, stated that the initiative was aimed to offer a number of public benefits, including high-quality supplies that have been accredited by specialized laboratories and aligned with health and environmental standards.

According to Gharany, the majority of the 175 employees of the company are Afghans. He said that he is seeking to offer Afghans employment opportunities both inside and outside of Afghanistan.

Ahmad Yar also said that he has invested over $250 million in various sectors in Afghanistan, Australia, Turkey, Germany, and UAE. His company, Harirud, is also involved in the operation and construction of Kabul International Airport.
