(MENAFN) A report in the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday claimed that the CIA is looking to hire Russians who are "disgusted" by the conflict in Ukraine. During a recent gathering at a think tank in the Washington, D.C., David Marlowe, deputy director of operations, made the assertion.
According to reports, Marlowe made a reference to the recent events in Ukraine. “Because we’re open for business.” Noting that “we’re looking around the world for Russians who are as disgusted with that as we are.”
At the Hayden Center at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia, Marlowe delivered a speech "before a select audience of university faculty and staff." According to the WSJ, he made his first public appearance at the "CIA at 75" event in June 2021. The Hayden Center made the video of the event public on Monday even though it happened last week.
Along with former acting director Michael Morrell, the CIA's deputy director for analysis Linda Weissgold was a member of the panel. She is reportedly in charge of producing finished intelligence reports for President Joe Biden and the rest of the United States leadership.
