Khalifa Shaheen Almarar Participates In 18Th Manama Dialogue

(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Manama, 22nd November, 2022 (WAM) -- Khalifa Shaheen Almarar, Minister of State, attended the 18th edition of the Manama Dialogue under the theme 'Rules and Competition in the Middle East,' hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The three-day regional security summit, held from November 18-20, was organised by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
The event was attended by more than 400 participants from various countries, including foreign ministers, defense ministers, security officials, military officers, and academics.
During the forum, several high-ranking officials spoke in a series of sessions entitled 'The Changing Geopolitics of Energy,' 'Middle East Initiatives for Regional Conflict Resolution,' 'New Security Partnerships in the Middle East,' and 'Middle East Policies in a Global Context.'
Almarar spoke during a session entitled 'Security of the Global Maritime Chokepoints' concerning the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab and threats to navigation due to piracy and terrorism.
Almarar discussed the UAE's efforts to bolsterthe safety of maritime navigation in and around the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab.
The Manama Dialogue is a prominent global diplomatic and security summit that has been held for the past eighteen years. The summit has been recognized for contributing to efforts to strengthen security and stability in the Middle East and enhancing understanding of regional developments.
