(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- The GCC agricultural cooperation commission on Sunday approved a blueprint designed to jointly attain food security among the council member states.
The GCC Secretariat General said in a statement that the commission held an extraordinary visual meeting, headed by the Saudi Minister of Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli and attended by Dr. Amal Abdulkarim, supervisor of palm trees and fruitful trees at the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fisheries.
The GCC assistant secretary of the economic and development affairs, Khalifa Al-Abri, took part in the session.
It said that the participants in the meeting approved a blueprint stipulating high level coordination to achieve common food security among the GCC countries.
The GCC, established in the early 80s of the past century for enhancing coordination among the regional countries at various levels, comprises Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. (end)
