CBI governor assures that funds blocked in S. Korea is in release process

(MENAFN) Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Ali Saleh-Abadi stated on Saturday that the action of releasing the Iranian assets detained in two South Korean banks is on action.

Saleh-Abadi decreased to supply any additional information on the issue of the Iranian possessions, IRNA mentioned in a report.

He also touched upon the administration’s programs to tame the hard currency market and stated that as actions were taken previously to tame the gold coin market, the CBI has ideas to present a package within the upcoming few days to make the hard currency market under control.

Based on CBI, more than seven billion dollars of Iranian oil in income have been blocked in two South Korean banks for over three years now, when Washington's restrictions waiver for South Korea's shipments of Iranian oil ended.

During the last two years, Senior South Korean as well as Iranian officials have been discussing to find ways to restore tow-sided ties strained by the issue of Iranian assets blocked in the nation.
