São Paulo – To meet the food processing equipment, ingredient and accessory market needs in the United Arab Emirates, it's important to offer products for immediate delivery and local maintenance services. These and other tips were given to businesspeople and executives from Brazil during a meeting in the office of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in Dubai earlier this week. The Brazilians are in the emirate to exhibit at Gulfood Manufacturing trade show that started Tuesday (8) and runs until Thursday (10) in the Dubai World Trade Center.

The group is participating in the show in Dubai via the Brazil Foodservice project, which is carried out by the Brazilian Association of Food Equipment, Ingredient and Accessory Industries (ABIEPAN) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) to promote the sector overseas. Representatives of the companies were welcomed in the ABCC office in a warm-up event for the Gulfood Manufacturing . The ABCC had also took part in a training session prior to the trip in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
In the office in Dubai, businesspeople learned more about the needs of the UAE from Brazilian chefs who work in the country. They also talked with experts on local issues of foreign trade. The event featured chef Geraldo Thomazini , who was responsible for the kitchen of the Brazil Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, chef Fernando Lima , who works at Tamani Marina Hotel and owns a coxinha and pastry factory, and consulting firm A&A Associate CEO Robin Philip and Business Development director Mohamed Firoz.
The chefs told Brazilians how the supply and distribution is like in their segment, particularly cooking appliances, and who are the leading players in the industry. They also explained the requirements that the Brazilian industry has to meet to supply to the UAE in the sector, such as offering products for immediate delivery and local maintenance. The A&A Associate's executives gave an overview of visas, customs procedures, exports, and other related topics. The information was given by the head of the ABCC office in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo, who received the group.
“I was delighted that we were able to hold this event for businesspeople,” Solimeo said. According to him, the office aims to be a place for sharing ideas, debates and lessons. The unit has had the support from its members in the UAE, such as A&A Associate, to share expertise with Brazilian businesspeople.“We are working to have even more opportunities and events in 2023,” Solimeo said.
