Halloween celebrations in Saudi Arabia cause controversy on social media


(MENAFN) The festival of Halloween was celebrated in Saudi Arabia in which partygoers dressed up in scary costumes flocked to the event which took place in the capital Riyadh.

As part of the current Riyadh Season, the “Scary Weekend” event took place on Thursday and Friday at Riyadh’s Boulevard.

The Boulevard was changed into a costume party with free entrance for dressed-up guests as long as they put on frightful outfit.

The aim of the event was to show horrifying masks and display locals’ and Saudis’ inventive creations. It was as well planned to create an environment that was enjoyable, thrilling, and exciting as visitors learned the backstories of the numerous character attires.

Halloween celebrations in Saudi Arabia triggered extensive disagreement on social media after pictures and videos of people attired in costumes for Halloween appeared.

The “#Weekend_horror” and “costume of evil” went viral on Twitter.
