Holiday Cash, Front-Liners' Rewards Added To New Budget - Kuwait FM


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 1 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Abdulwahab Al-Rushaid said Tuesday cash for civil servants' unused holidays, front-liners' rewards as well as new residential area's allocations have been added to the country's new fiscal year 2022-2023.
The minister, who doubles as minister of state for economic affairs and investment, made the remark during a regular session of the National Assembly on the state budget.
The move was taken after the remarks given by relevant National Assembly committees, he said, adding that the new budget reflects the government's new program of action and shows the executive authority's commitment to living up to its duties towards the Kuwaiti people.
However, the minister revealed that Kuwait's inflation rate hits 4.2 percent (higher than the Gulf countries' average) and per capita income is KD 1,534 (around USD 5,000), of which 33 percent is spent on housing. (pickup previous)
