Israel, Bahrain will ink free trade agreement by end of 2022

(MENAFN) Israel and Bahrain wants to ink a free trade deal between both nations by the end of 2022.

This was in a conference between Israeli Economy Minister Orna Barbivai and Bahraini Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed Alzayani in Israel, as reported by the Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

The two ministers agreed to speed up the process to sign a free trade deal ahead of the end of 2022, the daily announced.

An Israeli delegation might visit the Bahraini capital, Manama, in mid-November to finish discussing on the free trade agreement.

Alzayani's trip to Israel is the third since the two nations normalized their relations in September 2020.

Last year, the trade volume between Israel and Bahrain reached USD7.5 million.

In May, Israel inked a free trade deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to boost financial ties between the two nations.
