MMA legend brother passes a medical test to join Russian army operation

(MENAFN) The younger brother of Russian MMA troops Fedor and Aleksandr Emelianenko has succeeded in a medical test and will enroll the Russian army operation in Ukraine, as said by one of his brothers.

Aleksandr Emelianenko stated that his brother Ivan, aged 34, had signed up to help his nation as a volunteer.

“Ivan will be sent as a volunteer under contract. I know that he’s already passed a medical examination. When exactly he’ll go, I can’t say,” Emelianenko informed Match TV.

In other comments to RBC Sport, Emelianenko explained that personally he was not qualified for mobilization but would help if it is needed.

“I am not eligible for military service, I wasn’t called up,” on the words of the 41-year-old.

“If the Motherland calls me to defend the borders, I’ll go. I just didn’t serve in the army. My brother served in the special forces, so he volunteered.”
