Turkey’s daily electricity usage declines by 1.35 percent on Oct. 14


(MENAFN) Based on the official data released on Saturday by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS), daily electricity usage in Turkey declined by 1.35 percent on Friday in comparison to the day before, standing at 831,692 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS statistics, the peak hourly power usage was 38,689 megawatts per hours at 12 a.m. regional time (0900 GMT). At 5:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 28,729 megawatts per hours (0200 GMT).

The quantity of electricity produced on Friday was 812,301 megawatts per hours, which is 1.68 percent less than on Thursday.

Natural gas and lignite power factories constituted by 24.3 percent and 14.3 percent of the total output of electricity, correspondingly, whereas imported coal factories comprised by 25.7 percent of it.

Electricity exports and imports for the day totaled 9,734 and 29,125 megawatts per hours, respectively.
