Turkiye, Qatar Ink 11 Deals To Promote Strategic Relationship


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Oct 14 (KUNA) -- Turkiye and Qatar signed 11 new agreements to boost cooperation in several areas, including diplomacy, media, communications, culture and crisis management.
The documents were signed at the conclusion of the eighth meeting of Supreme Strategic Committee, in Istanbul on Friday, according to Turkiye's Anadolu Agency (AA).
They include an agreement on the satellite data sharing, a memorandum of understanding on exchanges in the internet, TV, radio, fax and audiovisual services, and agreements on cooperation in food security, construction and humanitarian aid.
The deals also include a memorandum of understanding on cooperation on quality infrastructure between the Turkish Halal Accreditation Agency and the Qatari Ministry of Public Health.
The committee meeting was co-chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; it was the 31st summit meeting since 2014, which signals the exemplary relationship between both nations.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and his Qatari counterpart Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, who held talks earlier today, inked the joint statement of the eighth meeting of the committee.
Turkiye and Qatar established the Supreme Strategic Committee in 2014 as a mechanism for high-level dialogue and cooperation. (pickup previous)
