Al-Kuwari Heads Qatar Delegation To GCC Financial And Economic Co-Operation Committee Meeting

HE the Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari headed Qatar's delegation to the 117th meeting of the Financial and Economic Co-operation Committee of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), which was recently hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.
The Qatari delegation included, Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Jamal, chairman of General Authority of Customs.
During the meeting, the GCC finance ministers discussed several topics of common interest listed on their agenda, including the recommendations submitted by the GCC Committee of Governors of Monetary Institutions and Central Banks, the GCC Customs Union Authority, and the Gulf Common Market Committee.
Al-Kuwari and HE Sheikh Bandar bin Mohamed bin Saoud al-Thani, Governor of the Qatar Central Bank, participated in the joint meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the GCC States with the director general of the International Monetary Fund.
During the meeting, the importance of the continued efforts of GCC countries to adapt to current financial and economic developments as well as to regional and international challenges was reiterated. The importance to support and promote joint GCC economic development was also reaffirmed.
