French families may face electricity cuts during day
(MENAFN) French families may face electricity stoppages of more than two hours if the energy crisis deepens this winter, as stated by the nation’s national power operator.
The RTE stated three scenarios for the next winter and declared that only in the worst-case scenario there might be many hours of electricity cuts.
During the winter months, RTE predicts a few "red signals" on the EcoWatt online platform, the operator went on to say.
The EcoWatt is an online platform that shows in real time the power use in France, and it can as well send SMS to consumers and notify them in case of any urgent case.
The system uses three colors: green (normal), orange (tight electrical system) and red, which means "very tight" situation.
The RTE pointed out that dangerous situations are not the most probable.
