Doha: Qatar embarked on the activation of its new sophisticated air space after it had entered the information that is relevant to this field in the radar devices approved by the Qatari air navigation.

The step was successfully achieved with a seamless flow without any reported impediments or obstacles in conformity with air safety procedures. Likewise, Doha Flight Information Region (FIR) was activated by Air Navigation Department of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority which had been on high alert from the outset for this moment that represents a critical milestone in the history of the aviation sector in Qatar.

In addition, Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri, In charge of managing Civil Aviation Authority said that such activation process is the beginning of a vital phase in civil aviation industry during which Qatar will witness a remarkable progress and evolution in this sector, in conjunction with the great benefits the activation of the air space will achieve that would primarily contribute to actively enhancing the air safety, and optimizing the capabilities of the secure and sustainable air transport operations.
