Etisalat Afghanistan, a division of Etisalat Telecommunications Group, provided cash assistance to around 200 families in Logar province of eastern Afghanistan hit by recent disastrous floods.

According to a press release, the Etisalat Afghanistan team visited the Khoshi district of Logar province, where the team distributed the donation made by the company directly to the families of the victims of recent floods.

'We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident and send our heartfelt condolences to the affected people in Khoshi district and across Afghanistan' said the CEO of Etisalat Afghanistan, whose message was delivered to the flood victims on September 4.

The ceremony was also attended by the Taliban deputy governor for the province of Logar, who said that the recent floods in the province had damaged crops, killed livestock, and left the locals with“nothing.”

The Taliban official, Salahuddin, stated that those who received the cash assistance from the Etisalat Company, based in UAE, were those who had lost their“loved ones” to the floods.

Afghanistan is currently undergoing the world's worst humanitarian catastrophe, and its impoverished people are in desperate need of assistance. Several natural disasters struck the country this year, including frequent flash floods, torrential rains, severe earthquakes, and landslides.

Natural incidents in Afghanistan killed thousands of people, injured hundreds, and displaced scores of people who had been directly affected by the natural mishaps across Afghanistan.
