KAZAN, 1st September, 2022 (WAM) -- Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, is heading a UAE delegation participating in the 'Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemistry Forum', which is being held in Kazan, Tatarstan, from 31st August to 2nd September, 2022.
The conference is being attended by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed bin Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, alongside the UAE delegation, which includes representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Mubadala Investment Company, Mubadala Petroleum, and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
During the opening session of the forum, Al Mazrouei reviewed the UAE's efforts to preserve the environment and reduce the repercussions of climate change, by investing in advanced technologies and renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions. He highlighted the importance of the UAE's hosting of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held in Dubai Expo City.
He lauded the UAE-Russia strong relations, especially in the fields of energy and industry, and their role within the OPEC+ alliance in maintaining the stability of the global energy market, in addition to supporting petrochemical industries and attracting related investment.
On the sidelines of the conference, Al Mazrouei met with Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, who praised the relations between the two countries and the comprehensive cultural renaissance witnessed by the UAE in various fields while highlighting the virtues of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Al Mazrouei and Minnikhanov discussed opportunities to enhance and develop their countries's cooperation across various areas, most notably in investment, the economy, food security, renewable energy and other areas of common interest.
Al Mazrouei also met with Korobchenko Oleg Vladimirovich, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in many commercial and industrial sectors, in the presence of Dr. Al Jaber and the Emirati delegation.
