Ministry Warns Against Leafy Vegetables For Fear Of E Coli Contamination

Doha: The Ministry of Public health (MoPH) has issued a warning against consuming leafy vegetable products such as spinach and arugula from the brand Hollands Glorie, originating from the Netherlands, with a lot number of 238294. The Ministry announced that this is due to possible contamination of E.coli.

In a statement on its website, the Ministry also stated that it has monitored European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) regarding the product.

It further affirmed that it has taken necessary precautionary measures as it circulated to suppliers to immediately withdraw the product subject to the notification from the market.

The ministry also directed its inspectors to verify that the relevant sales points are free of the said products as an additional precaution.

MOPH also called upon consumers, in the event of purchasing the leafy vegetable subject of the notification, not to consume them and destroy them or return them to the outlet.
