Elon Musk: Transition to renewable energy sources is a hard task for planet


(MENAFN) The change to renewable energy sources is one of the hardest tasks the planet is dealing with and it might need many years, Tesla CEO Elon Musk informed journalists on Monday.

He also underlined that the world must carry on extracting oil and gas to keep civilization, while carrying on as well improve sustainable sources of energy.

“Realistically, I think we need to use oil and gas in the short-term, because otherwise civilization will crumble,” Musk stated in an energy conference in Norway, noting that he’s not one to “demonize” remains fuels.

All at once, “we must have a clear path to a sustainable energy future.”

Musk replied to a question on if Norway should carry on drilling for oil and gas: “I think some additional exploration is warranted at this time."

“One of the biggest challenges the world has ever faced is the transition to sustainable energy and to a sustainable economy … that will take some decades to complete,” he also declared.
