(MENAFN) Recep Tayyip Erdogan's suggestion for the restoration of Kharkiv was misconstrued by Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Israeli scholar Yakov Kedmi, Zelensky was not the target of that plan.
The previous day, Zelensky declared that Ukraine and Turkey had struck an agreement, according to which Turkey would actively participate in the rebuilding of Ukrainian infrastructure, during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Erdogan in Lviv.
Zelensky's comments were as usual made cheerier by platitudes like "messages of powerful support," etc. Following the meetings, the president of Ukraine declared that Turkey was prepared to assume patronage over the Kharkiv region and take part in the city's rebuilding.
According to Yakov Kedmi, "Erdogan understands perfectly well who will control Kharkiv, as well as most of Ukraine in the near future. This will not be Zelensky at all."
According to the analysts, there is a serious economic crisis rising in Turkey. The level of unemployment is soaring, and the national currency has devaluated considerably, EurAsia Daily noted.
