Erth Abu Dhabi, Al Wathba Cycling Community Team To Promote Values Of Health, Sports

ABU DHABI, 18th August, 2022 (WAM) -- Erth Abu Dhabi, formerly the armed forces Officers Club and Hotel (AFOCH), has signed a community partnership agreement with the Al Wathba Cycling Community Team to reinforce health and sports values.

The agreement aims to foster collaboration by providing logistical and technical support, training and using the club's facilities.

Sheikha bint Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, CEO of Erth Abu Dhabi; and Sulaiman Al Hammadi, Director of Al Wathba Community Team, signed the agreement in the presence of Mohammed Sanad Al Qubaisi, Vice President of the Cycling Federation and team member.

The Al Wathba team carries a societal and humanitarian message that aims to promote tolerance values consistent with wise leadership's vision.

The team consists of over 100 athletes of various nationalities and ages and began its activity by cycling on the tracks of Al Wathba and Al Hudayriat, establishing a regular activity. Several team members took on the Cycling League's challenges, and the team excelled in various competitions.

The team also competed in the Spartan challenges, finishing third worldwide age group. The group also competed in the 'Iron Man' challenges. The team's activities included running races and marathons hosted by the state.

The team management expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Erth Abu Dhabi management for the team's community support as well as for channeling all energies to serve sports and athletes.
