MORONI, 12th August, 2022 (WAM) -- Othman Ghazali, President of the United Comoros Republic, received Al Zubairi Mohammed Ahmed, President of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, accompanied by Moustadroine Abdou, Speaker of the Assembly of the Union of the Comoros, and his deputies.
During the meeting, the sides discussed ways of supporting the parliament, while Ghazali highlighted the importance of supporting its objectives, most notably during the presidency of the Comoros in 2022 and 2023.
He also highlighted his country's support for the efforts of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, under the presidency of Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, and the international parliament, headed by Al Zubairi, most notably in the areas of awareness, culture and education.
The Assembly of the Union of the Comoros will provide the parliament with the necessary support, Ghazali added.
Al Zubairi briefed Ghazali about the latest efforts of the council and parliament to raise awareness about the values of peace and tolerance in the Comoros and the world.
