Massively Outnumbering Ukraine In Weaponry, Russians Still Can't Seal Gains In Donetsk Region - Official

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) More than a month into the capture of Lysychansk, the Russians were able to advance a mere 10 kilometers in their most successful attempt so far.

The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, spoke of this in a Facebook post, seen by Ukrinform.

'Two or three times a week, the occupiers try to advance in the Verkhniokamianka area – the latest attempt was yesterday. And once again, they were forced to retreat with losses. In other areas, where the enemy tried to penetrate our defenses, the progress over the last month is even less significant. Despite the continuous intensive use of artillery in these areas, the enemy was unable to form a sufficiently combat-ready grouping of troops to ensure a massive offensive,' Haidai is confident.

According to the data available to the official, over the past day, the Russians employed aviation over eight settlements located on the border of wartorn Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Russian forces stormed unsuccessfully in eight directions at once but all of those offensive efforts suffocated after being confronted by Ukraine's repulse.

In three other areas, firefights continue to this day.

Over the last night alone, the enemy fired 12 rockets, 16 artillery rounds, and two MLRS volleys.

As of August 11, Ukrainian defenders have killed about 43,000 Russian troops.
