UK to experience new heatwave next week

Date:

(MENAFN) The UK will undergo a new heatwave in the next week with temperatures which might increase to more than 30 C (89 F).

Parts of England and Wales in the south and west will feel hotter weather than the north and Scotland, in line with predictions by the Met Office.

"We are not really tapping into the heat across Spain and Portugal this time," on the words of Alex Deakin, a meteorologist of the Met Office, noting that temperatures in the south of the nation could be "into the low-30s and in eastern Scotland the mid-20s," by Wednesday.

Commenting that there was "some uncertainty" about the end of the week, Deakin stated a cold front might move south, introducing cooler air.

He went on to say "But, some computer models keep that weather front up to the north," declaring that this would let temperatures "rise further towards the back end of next week."
