Nine Russian Kalibr Carriers Ready For Action In Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) A total of 12 Russian warships, including nine Kalibr-type missile carriers, are remaining combat ready in the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov and the Mediterranean Sea.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of August 5, 2022, four enemy missile carriers are remaining ready for action in the Black Sea with 24 Kalibr cruise missiles. In the Sea of Azov, the enemy continues to control maritime communications, keeping up to three ships and boats combat ready. In the Mediterranean Sea, there are five Kalibr-type missile carriers,” the report states.

Over the past day, in the interests of the Russian Federation, passage through the Kerch-Yenikale Canal has been carried out as follows: 37 vessels sailed into the Sea of Azov, including six vessels from the Bosphorus Strait; 34 vessels sailed into the Black Sea, and seven of them went towards the Bosphorus Strait.

According to the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS 1974), turning off automatic identification systems (AIS) on civilian vessels in the Sea of Azov.
