Greek club AEK confirms Croatian defender Vida transfer coming from Besiktas
(MENAFN) Croatia’s Domagoj Vida, a previous center back for Turkish football team Besiktas, made his transfer to Greek club AEK Athens on Sunday.
The club stated in an announcement that "AEK FC announces the signing of Domagoj Vida. The international Croatian defender signed with our club until the summer of 2024."
Vida, who is 33 years old, has made his name playing for Osijek, Bayer Leverkusen, Dinamo Zagreb, Dynamo Kyiv, as well as Istanbul’s Besiktas.
As a Besiktas center back in 2018-2022, he was a key part in the team that achieved the Turkish Super Lig title in addition to Turkish Cup in 2021.
Vida has 16 goals under his name in 163 matches for Besiktas.
He achieved domestic trophies with Ukraine's Dynamo Kyiv such as the league title and the Greek cup.
Vida has a total of 98 international caps for the Croatian national team.
The skilled defender was also a main player for Croatia when they managed to get second place in the prestigious FIFA World Cup in Russia in 2018.
