Arab League Calls To Boycott Israel As Peaceful Resistance
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, July 31 (KUNA) -- The Arab League called on the Arab States on Sunday to reactivate the boycott of Israel, describing it as a peaceful resistance to press Israel to abide by international resolutions.
The League Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories Affairs Saed Abu Ali made the remarks at the 95th meeting of the Arab boycott offices in Cairo.
He said Israel's international boycott had achieved success at both popular and official levels.
He called on people worldwide to express solidarity with the Palestinian people by boycotting those companies supporting the Israeli occupation. Abu Ali said that the ongoing crimes of the occupation require an intervention of the international community, the Security Council and regional and international organizations to assume their responsibilities and stop the policy of 'double standards' to implement the relevant United Nations resolutions.
He pointed out that the conference emphasized the important role of the Arab boycott on Israel, in compliance with the Arab position, adding that many issues related will be discussed such as the principles and provisions of the established Arab boycott, the application of the ban, and the inclusion of companies in the boycott list.
A legal researcher at the Israel Boycott Office in the Kuwaiti Customs General Administration, Mishari Al-Jarallah represented the country in the meeting. (end)
