Truck Hits Car On Kabul-Kandahar Highway Killing 4 People

The Taliban-run media reports that a truck collision with a car on the Kabul-Kandahar highway resulted in the fatality of 4 people, including a woman.

According to the state-controlled Bakhtar News Agency, the accident happened on Sunday morning, July 31, in the province of Zabul in southern Afghanistan.

Consistent with the report, a truck crashed with a Corolla wagon-type vehicle in Zabul province's Noorak region and causing the deaths of 4 passengers.

No particular information about the reason for the traffic collision is mentioned by Taliban officials or in the reports.

Three more persons lost their lives and up to 12 others suffered injuries in a car accident in the northern Afghan province of Balkh that was caused by the collision of a loaded truck and a passenger car.

The injured were reportedly transported to a nearby hospital, where their conditions are described as critical.

Although the precise cause of this collision is unknown, driver error has been a significant contributing element in a sizable number of fatal accidents in Afghanistan, and this number has been increasing recently.

The main causes of the daily traffic fatalities in Afghanistan are also drivers who violate traffic laws, deteriorating roads, speeding, and the absence of traffic signals.
