China's leader sends message to Biden wishing him quick recovery from coronavirus

(MENAFN) China’s leader Xi Jinping sent a memo on Friday wishing US Leader Joe Biden a quick recovery from COVID-19.

Xi stated in the memo that “I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to the US president and wish him a speedy recovery.”

On Thursday, White House representative Karine Jean-Pierre stated that Biden, who is 79 years old, was suffering "very mild symptoms" and had begun taking the Paxlovid COVID-19 capsule.

Biden stated that he is “doing well” after testing positive for the COVID-19.

He stated in a video message that “This morning I tested positive for COVID, but have been double vaccinated, double boosted; symptoms are mild. I really appreciate your concerns, but I'm doing well, getting a lot of work. I'm going to continue to get it done.”

Biden is presently quarantined at the White House and “will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” according to Jean-Pierre.
