Bulgaria ejects lots of Russian representatives

(MENAFN) Bulgaria will eject 70 staffs of Russian diplomatic missions, the nation’s Premier Kirill Petkov informed reporters on Tuesday, saying that many of the employees worked “for foreign intelligence services.”

The premier did not give any extra information on the decision, mentioning privacy.

“I can say that a large part of [the diplomats] have worked for foreign intelligence services and their diplomatic role was just a cover,” Petkov added.

He went on to underline that the decision should not be seen as an act of aggression against Russians.

“I would like to tell all foreign countries, not just Russia, that anyone who works against Bulgaria’s interests will be expelled back to the country they came from,” Petkov noted.
