Zelensky: Putin's battle will define the "future rules of this world."
(MENAFN) According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the result of Vladimir Putin's assault of Ukraine will decide the destiny of the world order.
The Ukrainian president stated that the West must act in its own self-interest by supplying more armaments to assist his nation in fighting the Russians.
“I am grateful for your support... but this support is not only for Ukraine, but for you as well,” he stated. “It is on the battlefields of Ukraine that the future rules of this world are being decided along with the boundaries of the possible.”
The remarks follow the announcement by the Ukrainian ambassador in Germany that Berlin will deliver seven howitzers to Ukraine later this month. Kyiv has already chastised Germany for failing to deploy heavy weaponry.
In other news, Ukraine's prosecutor general acknowledged the deaths of 24 additional children in Mariupol, the southern port city besieged by Russia for three months before taking it in mid-May. It went on to say that at least 287 youngsters had been murdered thus far in the fighting.
