President of Northern Cyprus dismisses criticism of Turkey accord by Greek Cypriot leader

(MENAFN) The TRNC president claimed on Monday that an economic accord recently struck by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkey is " great importance."

Ersin Tatar, rebuffing criticism of the accord made by the Greek Cypriot administration's chairperson, declared that the newest TRNC-Turkey agreement " seems to have annoyed (Nicos) Anastasiades a lot."

Ankara's ambition for " complete control" of Turkish Cypriots, according to Anastasiades, is reflected in the new financial aid agreement and certain changes to air travel norms.

Tatar dismissed his claims, stating that the current year Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol, which was signed in April, is going to provide the TRNC economy a much-needed boost.
