US to look into lifting some tariffs on imports from China
(MENAFN) As stated by Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo in an interview with CNN, US Leader Joe Biden has instructed his administration to look into lifting some tariffs on imports from China to control record-breaking inflation.
According to the official “We are looking at it. In fact, the president has asked us on his team to analyze that. And so we are in the process of doing that for him and he will have to make that decision.”
Raimondo stated Washington will keep some of the tariffs on steel and aluminum to keep the local steel industry, then said that “it may make sense” to lift tariffs on other products, like household goods and bicycles.
Raimondo did not state if any tariffs are going to eventually be stopped, saying that Biden himself “will have to make that decision.”
