Gazprom states gas export to china continue to grow


(MENAFN) Russian energy giant Gazprom stated this week that gas exports to China through the Power of Siberia tube have sustained to increase, the exports are part of “a bilateral long-term contract between Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC),” the firm stated on its official Telegram channel.

The 3,000km (1,864 mile) cross-border pipeline began official exports of Russian natural gas to China 3 years ago.

The so-called eastern route’s volume is 61 billion cubic meters of gas a year, counting 38 billion cubic meters for export.

In 2020, Gazprom provided 4.1 billion cubic meters of gas to China through the Power of Siberia.

The deal on gas provisions through the pipeline was agreed on 8 years ago, with Gazprom and CNPC inking a 30-year agreement, the USD400 billion agreement is Gazprom’s largest contract ever and the Power of Siberia is the first natural gas pipeline among Russia and China.
