SHARJAH, 3rd June, 2022 (WAM) -- The Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), one of the institutions affiliated with the League of Arab States, signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Sharjah (UoS) to enhance aspects of joint cooperation.
The Parliament will benefit from the training programmes organised by the university through the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development, which is reflected in the development of the capabilities of children in the Arab world.
The agreement was signed by Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of APC, and Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Director of UoS.
During the signing ceremony, Dr. Al Nuaimi, welcomed the ongoing cooperation between the University of Sharjah and APC, which resulted in the implementation and preparation of a large number of diplomas and training programmes that would contribute to raising the research and parliamentary capabilities of children and workers in this field.
For his part, Al Barout highlighted the importance of concluding this agreement, as it is held with one of the reputable universities locally and internationally. He pointed out that the agreement lays out a broad horizon for academic cooperation sought by Parliament in order to train the children of the Arab world in general and the Parliament children members to meet the children's need for advanced educational programmes that enable them to exercise their role and contribute to raising their level and skills and also enable them to understand the necessary knowledge.
Dr. Radi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at UoS, noted that the centre works continuously to develop the cognitive and cultural skills of members of the Parliament participating in these courses, through teaching modern and advanced topics that are commensurate with the technological developments witnessed in the world.
The agreement comes after the university offered a number of training programs for members of Parliament and supervisors of children from Arab countries, in addition to other programs for children in the Arab world over the past two years in specialised diplomas, in line with vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in caring for children and providing appropriate rehabilitation programs at the hands of elite faculty members at UoS.
