EU Parliament supports EU membership for Ukraine with 'zero ambiguity'
(MENAFN) The European Parliament agrees on Ukraine's EU involvement and advises bloc chiefs to progress with the integration process, as declared by the lawmaking organization's chief.
Roberta Metsola updated Anadolu Agency at a news meeting after her talks with the EU presidents at the special conference "There is zero ambiguity about the European Parliament's position that it positively views the next step for Ukraine to become a candidate for the EU."
In line with the draft conclusions of the two-day conference, EU presidents will likely assess the European Commission's valuation of Ukraine's candidacy at their next conference in June.
Metsola emphasized that the EU has to reply fast to Ukraine's membership request and confirm to "opening the door" to let go of worries on the bloc's capacity to act.
